Welcome to our farm, before you stay, here’s a bit about us!
We specialise in child friendly farm holidays tailored for families with babies, toddlers and small children. Grandparents welcomed and catered for too!
Higher Lank Farm has belonged to, and been run by, the Finnemore family for over 100 years, carrying on the family tradition. Introducing the current generation:
Beef farmer, menagerie keeper, barn restorer, guardian of our woodland, tree feller, and wood chippper for our biomass boiler which keeps all our guests and our swimming pool warm! Morning animal feeding guide, often your breakfast chef! And a mine of information on agricultural issues and the history of Cornwall.
Your first contact at the farm. Receptionist, telephonist, booking taker, emailer, facebooker and Allergy Hour host (twitter every Thursday from 8.30pm)! Cook, waitress, babysitter and sometimes cleaner. Also often your morning animal feeding guide and keeper of lots of goats (too many my husband says!) Swimming teacher and coach in our swim shed. Also a mine of information (possibly a lot of which is frivolous) on all things child-friendly. Mum to four:
No longer living here, now studying Radiography at Exeter University
Now living elsewhere in Cornwall breaking in horses and running a carriage driving business locally.
Amazingly efficient cleaner and evening and weekend waiter. Qualified lifeguard and swim coach helping here at the pool and also working parttime at Camelford leisure centre, and for Penhellis home care. Hoping to head off to Cardiff university in the Autumn. Also our master horseman and keeper of the pony and trap.
Now 15, and my last no long a baby baby. Wonderfully useful and a baby and toddler lover. A whizz with the computer currently managing instagram and about to become my blogger. Excellent nursery tea and supper waitress. Saturday sausage roll maker extraordinaire! Now Sunday morning chambermaid, the new member of our changeover cleaning team and available for evening babysitting.
We are also very ably helped by Rebecca, a former nanny, with two children of her own. She is always cheerful, friendly and helpful, and by Celie, another Finnemore (Andrew’s sister).
